What Makes Sylvért Pashmina Different?

Most scarves marketed as “pashmina” are made from viscose, polyester, or blended fibres. Sylvért focuses on genuine pashmina; a rare fibre sourced from the Changthangi goat of Ladakh, prized for its softness, warmth, and extraordinary lightness.

Coronis: Pashmina

Pashmina is finest wool on earth, hand woven exclusively from the gruff or neck coat of the Changthangi Goat. The Changthangi goat of Ladakh, is combed of its winter undercoat as it molts in the spring. The fibers collected are 12-13μm (microns) in diameter with a fiber length of 55-60mm, making it the finest wool in the world.

Pure Pashminas account for 0.1% of global Cashmere production. It is incredibly rare and highly sought after.

Rivanor: Cashmere

Cashmere is term used to describe any fine wool from a variety of wool producing animals. It is overall, some of the finest wool in the world usually ranging 14-17μm (microns) and a fiber length between 40-50mm. Cashmere can be found all over the world, but the highest quality is the Changthangi Pashmina Goats which are native to Ladakh.

Cashmere is more durable than Pashmina and can be woven into a wider variety of garments.

Vissera: Blends

Our blends involve Pashmina, Cashmere and Silk.

Pashmina on its own is a rather delicate fabric and to strengthen it we blend it with cashmere / fine wool and often include silk and cotton thread embroidery for decoration.

Both handmade and machine made garments are available from us.

Scarves: Crafted from thick, weighty cashmere, Sylvért scarves deliver concentrated warmth in a compact form. Ideal for layering beneath coats or wrapping snugly at the neck, they offer functional elegance without excess. Best worn looped once or tied simply for everyday insulation with a refined finish.

Stoles: Twice the size of our scarves, stoles offer generous coverage while retaining versatility. Available in both cashmere (denser, structured) and pashmina (lighter, softer, and warmer), they can be draped over shoulders, wrapped around the neck, or cinched at the waist. An ideal transitional piece—substantial yet graceful. Commonly worn over Ballgowns and Tuxedos.

Shawls: Expansive and enveloping, Sylvért shawls are crafted from either luxurious cashmere or exceptionally warm, fine pashmina. Designed for full-body coverage, they double as statement wraps, winter cloaks, or evening throws.
