Visserica is woven from a calibrated blend of fine Changthangi pashmina and filament silk, engineered to balance thermal insulation, surface softness, and structural drape.

The base textile is loom-woven under controlled tension to preserve fibre continuity, loft, and dimensional stability. Silk is integrated to introduce light-responsive surface clarity and tensile reinforcement without compromising the tactile properties of pashmina.

The stole is then completed using hand needlework embroidery, where each motif is constructed stitch by stitch directly into the fabric.

This embroidery:

  • Permanently integrates pattern
  • Enhances surface depth
  • Preserves textile flexibility
  • Maintains fibre integrity

The embroidery process requires extended artisan labour, severely constraining production throughput and ensuring dimensional consistency across each piece.

Finishing is deliberately restrained, preserving:

  • surface clarity
  • thermal regulation
  • fibre continuity

Visserica is not decorative.
It is structural textile engineering combined with hand-executed embroidery at heritage level.

Material & Origin

At elevations exceeding 4,500 metres, where climate dictates survival, the Changthangi goat develops an undercoat of exceptional fineness. This fibre, known as pashmina, is among the rarest in the world, defined by its ability to insulate without weight while remaining remarkably soft against the skin.

Coronis is woven in Ladakh using this fibre in its purest form, preserving both its structure and natural properties. The result is a textile shaped as much by environment as by craftsmanship; one that carries warmth, lightness, and provenance in equal measure.

Pure pashmina is not defined by surface decoration, but by its fineness and hand. Light passes through it. Warmth is retained without bulk. Over time, the fibre softens further, adapting to the wearer while maintaining its integrity.
